Trueblood Collective Boutique in Charleston is once again donating a portion of October sales to help local women battling cancer.
Every Thursday through the month of October, Trueblood Collective, located at 315 Lincoln Ave., Suite 200, and owner Shannon Trueblood, will donate a portion of its proceeds to the Sarah Bush Lincoln Regional Cancer Center.
“We all know someone who is battling or has battled cancer,” Trueblood said. “Since we’re a women’s boutique, I wanted to particularly help women fighting cancer, especially those who need help paying for items associated with their treatment.”
Trueblood Collective will feature the fundraiser on its Facebook site, including Wednesday night “Facebook Live” events that will include guest appearances by breast cancer survivors.
“We are so grateful to Shannon for her compassion and generosity,” Amy Card, SBL Foundation director, said. “Donations like hers are used in a variety of ways. There are young mothers battling breast cancer who simply can’t afford Miaderm, a cream that reduces and soothes painful burns from radiation treatment, a cream not covered by insurance. Sometimes it’s all these moms can do to put food on the table for their children, let alone pay $30 for a cream. Thanks to Shannon and others like her, our Regional Cancer Center staff is able to provide Miaderm free of charge to our patients who struggle financially.”
