If you are an expectant parent, new parent or even an experienced parent or grandparent, Bumps Burps & Giggles Baby & Children’s Fair is back this year and better than ever.
The baby fair is set 11 am to 3 pm, Sunday, June 25, in Sarah Bush Lincoln’s Lumpkin Family Center and an adjacent air-conditioned tent. Participants can tour the newly renovated Women & Children’s Center, learn more about SBL services, meet new pediatric providers, purchase infant and children’s toys, books, clothing and accessories, and enter to win beautiful nursery furnishings and a wide variety of raffle prizes. The event is free and open to the public.
This year there will be more than 30 community agencies and area businesses offering informational displays and opportunities to purchase items including support groups, home décor, photographers, investment help, financial services, and clothing for mom and baby. The event also features four breakout sessions including safe car seat installation with the Mattoon Police Department, breastfeeding tips and tricks, making your own baby food and child-proofing your home. Face painting and a fun craft with Stang Arts will also be available for children to enjoy.
Expectant moms and families will have an opportunity to tour SBL’s newly modernized labor and delivery rooms that are designed to bring together cutting-edge medical technology with spa-like amenities. “Our goal is to offer as many options as possible so that expectant moms can customize their birth experience,” SBL Women and Children’s Director Cindy Rivas said. “We want expectant parents to be able to plan their ideal delivery setting – from what music is playing to who they want in the room.”
Participating Sarah Bush Lincoln services include Oh, Baby! Perinatal and Infant Care Education, Center for Healthy Living, Dental Services for women and children, Physical Therapy, Speech & Hearing, and Lincolnland Home Medical Equipment.
Vendors and community agencies include 31 Bags, Coles County Breastfeeding Support Group, Coles, Moultrie and Effingham County Health Departments, DoTerra Essential Oils, Excel Chemical-Free Carpet Cleaning, Gina Meister Photography, JWag Photography, Lucky Duck Baby, Lularoe, Matilda Jane, Mattoon Fire Department, Mattoon Police Department, Mothers of Pre-Schoolers Norwex, Plush Boutique, Sister Stitch, Stang Arts, Sugar Plum Pretties, Twice as Nice Resale Shop, Usborne Books, Wells Fargo, WIC Nutrition Programs and the Mattoon Area YMCA.
