SBL Golf Benefit Set for June 14

Sarah Bush Lincoln will host its 24th annual golf benefit on Friday, June 14, at Meadowview Golf Course. Net proceeds from the event will benefit the Funding the Future Capital Campaign.

The event kicks off with a morning flight at 7:30 am. A continental breakfast will be available during morning registration, which begins at 6:30 am. Lunch will be served from 11 am to 2 pm, registration for the afternoon flight will be from 11:30 am to 1 pm and the afternoon flight will tee off at 1 pm.

Prizes will be awarded to winners of challenges on each of the 18 holes during a reception from 6 to 8 pm in the Meadowview Clubhouse. Prizes include gift certificates from area restaurants, an iPad, tickets to sporting events like a Cardinals game, a Cubs game, a Bulls game, a Nascar event and a deluxe 3-person swing with canopy, just to name a few.

The lucky winner of the raffle will win a seven-night trip to Mexico for up to 10 people. The winner chooses from three exciting Grand Mayan Resorts in Cancun, Acapulco or Nuevo Vallarta. Tickets for the raffle can be purchased for $10 each during the golf benefit. However, buy early to take advantage of the “buy one, get one free” offer available to anyone purchasing raffle tickets before June 13. You need not be present to win.

Title sponsors for this event include Coles-Moultrie Electric Cooperative, Lakeland Healthcare Group and Neal Tire and Auto Services.

Funding the Future raises funds to help renovate and expand critical areas of the Health Center including the Emergency Department, Surgery Suites, Laboratory and Radiology, and create private rooms on the adult care unit. The campaign also supports Sarah Bush Lincoln’s strategic goal to create healthy communities through the following Healthy Kids programs: Healthy Kids Educators, teach children in the classroom about nutrition and exercise; JumpStart - a camp, designed for children with health risks, teaches them about sound nutrition, self-esteem and fun, fit activities; KickStart - a sport utility vehicle transformed into an engaging and interactive educational mobile exhibit through which children learn about body functions, health and wellness; Project Fit America - a cooperative program providing area schools with fitness equipment and instructions to help create a positive physical impact on children; I Sing the Body Electric – high school-aged teens use the arts to create powerful messages about healthy living to improve self-esteem and make healthy choices; Dental Services - preventive and restorative dental care is provided to children without means; and Kidsfest - an event for children that teaches health and wellness in a fun atmosphere.
