You must bring your vaccine card when receiving a second dose or a booster dose.

COVID-19 Testing

COVID-19 testing is available by appointment only at the Mattoon Walk-In Clinic. Call 217 238-3000. During high volume periods, COVID-19 test results are available in 36-72 hours.

The cost of the COVID-19 testing is $135. Your insurance will be billed. Some insurance companies are not covering the cost for people who are not vaccinated.

If you have been directly exposed to someone with the virus, please quarantine at home for 10 days. Remember, it generally takes at least three to five days after exposure for enough of the virus in your system to show up positive in a test, so testing before that point is not warranted. If you do not have symptoms, there is no need for a test. You should just quarantine. 

Locating Your Covid-19 Test Results

Your COVID-19 test results will appear on your SBL Patient Portal as soon as they are available. Click on “Health Record” and scroll to the last entry “Covid:19 Results.”

Hydroxychloroquine and COVID-19

 

Pre-surgical/Pre-procedural

  • Beginning with procedures and surgeries to be performed on or after Monday, 5/9, SBL will no longer require Covid testing.
  • Patients will be screened for symptoms of Covid during a pre-procedure phone call and also on arrival the day of surgery. 
  • If the patient has any symptoms, rapid testing will be performed at that time.
  • If a patient’s Covid screen is negative, no testing is necessary.

Visitor Policy at the Health Center

Visitor restrictions have been lifted with special rules below for Women & Children's Center. All visitors and guests must wear a surgical mask (not cloth) in all healthcare settings. In accordance with our pre-pandemic policy, surgery patients may have two support people over 18 during surgery.

Women & Children's Center restricts visitors to two with the following visitor policy:

Labor/Postpartum patients: Two (2) designated visitors who may come and go through the duration of the stay. Only one (1) may remain overnight. Visitors must be over 18 (unless a parent of the newborn). The two visitors will be given a visitor bracelet for easy identification and admittance to the unit. Only one visitor may go into the OR for a non-emergent cesarean section and remain in the room during the recovery phase. Visitors must wear a mask at all times during the stay.

For COVID positive labor/postpartum patients: One (1) visitor who must stay in the room for the duration of the stay. Meals will be provided. Visitors must wear a mask at all times during the stay.

Pediatric patients: no change. Two (2) designated visitors who may come and go for the duration of the stay. No siblings or visitors under 18 unless they are the parent of the patient. Visitors must wear a mask at all times during the stay.

Overflow/gynecology/surgery patients (including COVID positive): Two (2) designated visitors who may come and go through the duration of the stay. Only one (1) may remain overnight. Visitors must be over 18. The two visitors will be given a visitor bracelet for easy identification and admittance to the unit. Visitors must wear a mask at all times during the stay.

For COVID positive overflow/gynecology/surgery patients: One (1) visitor who must stay in the room for the duration of the stay. Meals will be provided. Visitors must wear a mask at all times during the stay.

Surgery: Patients may have two support people over the age of 18 present during surgery.
