About:You are going to love it at The Oaks Manor. A small community with only thirteen rooms makes it easy to get around and immediately feels like home. When you need a place to recover following an injury or surgery, your physical therapist can work with you in the comfort of your private Suite. Perhaps you just need a place to hang out for a few hours each day, we would love to be your host; enjoy a warm home-cooked meal and make yourself at home in our dining room and living room areas. You are also welcomed to join any of the activities planned for the residents while you are here. Activities range from bingo, low impact exercises, kickball, arts and crafts, movie and popcorn night, and much more. When you need a little extra help to get safely through the day, you need to check out our private suites, you will be glad you did. Each suite is equipped with its own bathroom that has a large shower for easy access. Each suite has four pull cords for your safety. You can also enjoy your favorite snacks and late night raids to the refrigerator since your room has a kitchenette with a sink, refrigerator, and microwave oven. You can enjoy Dish television and high speed internet. Each suite has independent temperature control for heat and air conditioning. When you want to enjoy the fresh air, you can spend some time watching the birds, smelling the roses, or enjoying the beautiful sunset in the large enclosed backyard. You want to maintain your independence and we are here to help. We can assist with all the activities of daily living from medication reminders to help with showers, dressing, eating and getting around. The emphasis is on maintaining your health and independent lifestyle with dignity. Just think of all the extra time you will have to pursue your interests when you no longer must cook, clean and do laundry. Many people have said “The Oaks Manor is the best kept secret” in Illinois. Oakland is a small community with amenities at your fingertips. We are conveniently located across from Casey’s on Route 133 halfway between Charleston and Paris. Within 2-3 blocks are the City Library, Post Office, Senior Center, Horizon Health Clinic, Emergency Services (Fire Dept), grocery store and more. We have a large parking lot so if you still drive, bring your car. We have handicapped accessibility into our community. Call to schedule a tour and stay for lunch. We look forward to meeting you.
